About the Author
I never imagined my path to motherhood would look the way it does today.
What began as a deeply personal desire to grow our family turned into a journey that tested every part of me—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Surrogacy is often spoken about in clinical or logistical terms, but what I experienced was something far more complex. It required trust in ways I wasn’t prepared for, patience I had to learn, and resilience I didn’t know I had.
When we first started, I believed I needed control—over the process, the decisions, and the unknowns. But this journey had other plans. It asked me to let go, to lean into uncertainty, and to place profound trust in another person. That was, without question, the hardest and most transformative part of it all.
I wrote this memoir for the person I once was—searching for answers, clarity, and reassurance in a process that can feel overwhelming and isolating. I hope this story offers not only insight into the realities of surrogacy, but also a sense of comfort, connection, and a starting point for those who need it.
If my experience can help even one person feel more prepared, more supported, or simply less alone, then sharing this journey has been worth it.
Outside of writing, I’ve spent over 20 years in the financial and insurance industry, landing an All Star achievement status, supporting individuals and families through some of life’s biggest decisions. I’m passionate about helping others feel informed, confident, and supported—whether in life or in deeply personal journeys like this one.
I also love traveling, especially to Mexico, where I find a sense of grounding, peace, and reflection.
